Danville BOS Meeting 04/13/09

I know this is getting old, but this TRSD School Board Meeting is must see TV. Three parents asked the board to reconsider the new calendar. The chair thanked them for coming then moved onto the next item of the agenda. The District has new ideas for educating our kids with TV — this should cut down on the cost of paper, pencils, and books. Mr. La Salle asked the board fpr permission to misappropriate $9,000. School board to Mr. La Salle, “Sure!” TRSD clarifies policy that lets kids graduate after 3.5 years. Preschool is on the way! Pilot to begin in September. Obama to pay for part of the cost for two or three years…maybe. This is important because our kids are not prepared for kindergarten. I think Mr. La Salle said this will reduce taxes or something. I’m sure I heard Mr. Collins say this would have no tax impact…again. The school board does not want the budget committee meetings on TV (do you need a better reason to have them televised?) and Mr. Baldwin (from Atkinson where an outspoken citizen has had his home and automobile vandalized) sees no reason for an anonymous suggestion box.
I wouldn’t believe this had I not seen it with my own eyes. You won’t believe what goes on at budget committee meetings either!
Watch some nit wit volunteer to clean up the shooting pit in the town forest. My shoes are ruined, my arms ache, and I’ll be hunched over for a week. The PD will probably be at my door with a $2000 fine for dropping the debris at the dumpsters behind town hall. Whatever, my kid gets a check for his no trace award and the pit actually looks pretty good.
Old friend Jack Paone hopes school board has as much enthusiasm for educating our kids as they have for the new calendar. Watch the pained contributions of Mr. Paone and Mr. Mascola as the rest of the Super PTA ignores the academic needs of our kids. Take a minute to email these guys and thank them for looking after our kids…
